Short Description

The 1SD536F2 are ultra-compact, intelligent, high performance, single-channel plug-and-play IGBT drivers of the intelligent SCALE driver family.

They have been designed specifically for precise and reliable driving and protection of high-power, high-voltage IGBT modules in the standard 130x140mm and 190x140mm housings.

The 1SD536F2 drivers are based on CONCEPT's sophisticated SCALE driver chipset. The drivers are fully equipped with protection functions such as Vce-monitoring for short-circuit protection, operation inhibit after fault, supply-undervoltage shut down.

The 1SD536F2 series drivers are featuring an active clamping function, which is the most rugged and best-performance way to protect the costly IGBTs.

The 1SD536F2 driver family is equipped with a di/dt feedback that reduces the high di/dt during IGBT turn-off. This feature is particularly useful for high-power modules equipped with trench-gate IGBTs. The high di/dt at turn-off leads to high voltage surges, strong oscillations and thus also to EMC problems.

Operating the gates with a bipolar control voltage (typically ±15V) allows the  IGBT modules to be driven reliably with high immunity to interferences.

The on-board DC/DC converter provides a self-contained insulated power supply for the driver circuitry.

Fiber-optic Interface Options

Fiber-optic links are used for the electrical insulation of the command and status-feedback signals. Two versions of fiber-optic interfaces are available:  "versatile links" and "ST links" with threaded ports. For details, check the product documentation.
